Mega Cannon on ork ships

I know this might have been asked, but is this gun worth to add to the prow slot due to its short range vs the zap cannon/normal gunz/torpedoes?

In the Beta, this gun was widely regarded as OP. It has been nerfed a bit, but it is still quite powerful, especially on front-arc focused builds (Goffs and the tractor beam guys come to mind).

thats the double mega kannon man, its a 3k ranged weapon on a ship that moves at 112 speed, now i want to ask you on such a slow unwieldy ship, IF your even field it, do you want to take a 3k ranged weapon or would it be better to take triple mega zzzaps so that you can atleast have some ranged potential to support your fleet?

Cause let be real by the time some thing gets within 3k range of a deathdela...its already dead.

Oh and ork alpha can be countered by supercharge void shields

normal mega kannons do 144 dmg. the battle ship jsut has a 2 shot one. ;)

I always get megas on bashas

But on higher class ships it's a judgement call cause torpedo walls are useful fr trying to zone and control kiting fleets to restrict the direction that they can go

preety much any of the ork prow weapons are awesome. boarding torps are the best torps in the game currently IMO as they can easily do serious permanent dmg if even one hits.

I'm currently thinking in making a battle cruiser with mega cannon + range boost and accuracy boost. Would that be beneficial vs 2 zaps or just the simple gunz/torpedoes?

On topic:
You'd want to build a fleet that can make that Mega Kannon and Lotza'Heavies work. It's the whole point to playing Orks. All the other weapons have their uses to fine tune your fleet so it isn't too linear and predictable. But they are still considered secondary weapons.

Zzap and Launcha goes well on support ships.
Torpedoes are strategic options.
Lotza'Gunz .... coz we have limited Kustom points

Prow Gunz I'm beginning to like tho. But they're a byproduct of you choosing other important things.
