Tac Cog abuse with Stronghold

I've been seeing this abuse happen a lot lately, Tau player will activate tac cog when the stronghold gets in range then deactivate it once they have the mining laster active, this prevents the other player from using tac cog to say, MJW out of the laser.

Might need to look at fixing this abuse.

tac cog delay counts for both players
would be better if the delay was player specific

Besides, Tac Cog works both ways, so the other guy gets plenty of time to dodge out of the way if they have the right skills.

except that they arnt using taccog, they are using the taccog delay
taccog delay should be player specific
only way to counter it now is by activating taccog as soon as you see a stronghold, and never deactivating it... thats not a fun solution
while usually i am not on the "whaaaaaaa taccog abuse!" side, i do agree this time
hell in 2v2 i have even been bothered by my ally activating taccog for just a moment making it impossible for me to use it
each player should have their own separate delay

Maybe 'Intelligent' is stretching it, but it is just utilising a mechanic in this case.

Maybe I don't understand the issue, but the basic git is like this:
The Stronghold flies towards your ships
At 3k range they activate TC and deactivate it as soon as the Mining Laser fires, so that the TC delay is preventing the other one to use TC to get out of this.
Right?

Sounds as if it is completely counter-able without having to use TC Oo


Maybe a video could actually showcase the problem better

That very specific case you need tac cog because the mining laser does such huge amounts of damage. It makes a Pulsar look like a laser pointer when it's fully charged. So if they, for example, MJW into you and unlceash the laser you only have 2 options.

1) pop void shields, assuming you have void shields skill and your shields are still up.

2) MJW out of the mining laser.

But you can't MJW out because the Tau player who's about to use the mining laser on their stronghold has disabled your ability to use tac cog for the mining laser's duration.

This is more like abusing the mechanic.
The global cooldown for tac cog was never intended to be used as a strategic feature so you can lock your opponent out of it when it's most needed. It was meant to stop people from spamming spacebar rapidly because it's annoying and super salty people were doing it a lot.
