Twin Linked weapons

How do you build them in terms of upgrades
Does range increase translate for both or one only.

All macro upgrades only apply to the macro component and all lance upgrades apply only to the lance component.

I generally wouldn't bother much with weapons upgrades on ship with mixed armament and instead go for speed and survivability on ships like the Lunar or Slaughter.

Don't trust the other answer. Try it for yourself on a fresh admiral vs AI.

Personally, I believe it depends on what you want the ship to do. If you want it to be a short range brawler maybe upgrade the lances with improved crits, and give the macro's armor piercing.

Basically, just look at a ship you normally equip for one or the other, consider what you want the specific ship to do, then figure out which upgrades are still useful.

e.g. my slaughter has: AP Ammo, +50% Damage vs Shields with Lances, Belt Armour, Emissions Dissapators and Extra Hull Plating.

Thus it is very good at closing the distance unspotted, getting up close and doing as much dps as it can.

on the slaughterer AP ammo is still worth it for brawling as its super fast so can close the distance easily.

Since I couldn't believe the wiki when it said that both upgrades apply to both parts of the Twin Linked Batteries, I tried it out. Here are the results:

Refined Lenses (lance range upgrade): both parts of the TLB go from 6k to 9k
Turbo Weaponry (macro range upgrade): both parts of the TLB go from 6k to 9k, missile pod and macro turret go from 6k to 9k
both upgrades: both parts of the TLB go from 6k to 9k, missile pod and macro turret go from 6k to 9k

Summary: Both upgrades work for both parts of the TLB, but they don't stack.

Really? Lucifronsun just told me macro upgrades doesn't affect missile pods.

The game doesn't consider them to be macro weapons for the purpose of upgrades. Unless it was changed without a patch note.

Did you check that in game, or on the fleet screen? Because I've used the range upgrades plenty of times thinking the whole weapon was upgraded, and instead nothing was increased in game.
