Discuss the Space Marine fleet. There is only the Emperor, and he is our shield and protector.

Not played much with them yet, but what sort of game do you like?

What level are you?
Imperial - Lady Lukara (8), Chaos - Abraxus (8), Eldar - Flower of Carnage (2) , Orks - Big Bazza (6), Wolve - Floki (6)

This is by far the easiest way to play SM until you level up enough for your Battle barge+master of the forge.

Mass probe skills and boaring torpedoes. And by mass I mean MASS them, preferrably not on your escorts - but on line ships.

When you go to enguage the opponent, spam probes, get them identified...and then kite them non-stop, letting mass boarding torpedoes and thunderhawk boardings to their job. Don't directly fight the enemy until half their fleet is dead and prioritize the escorts 1st (Escorts tend to hurt SM a lot in thearly levels if they have any Armor Piercing).

Throw a chapter master favor on one of your 1st line ships with boarding torpedoes, DO NOT THROW A FAVOR ON ANY OTHER SHIP.

Gear your fleet for this purpose above all else, you will be spamming boarding torps until level 6.

Once you reach level 6, get Battlebarrge MK 1 and BEFORE IT RISES ABOVE LEVEL 1 get Master of the Forge on it.

After that make the thing a behemoth brawler that no fleet wants to face.

In high point games you bring your Battle Barge+3 line ships. The 3 line ships spam the crap out of boarding torps (battle barge as well) and you try to goad the enemy into fighting you directly, where the Battle Barge will just wreck face.

Make sure to micro your other line ships back and let the Battle Barge do the tanking, if it isn't a battle barge, it's made of paper and will die to a wet sneeze if the sneeze has AP. They exist strictly to support the Battle Barge.

Are they counted as Macro-weapon ?

Bombardment Cannons with inbuild armor piercing, good damage and high crit chances, as well as a Torpedo Launcher for Boarding Torpedoes or close range shotgun.
They do count as macro weapons and therefor benefit from the upgrades.
So when you upgrade your Bombardment Cannons you automatically upgrade the 2 Macro Batteries, too.

The MK2's 5 Lances have the same dps as the MK1's 3 Bombardment Cannons, but considerably lower crit chances and 2/3 of the same dps is bound to a 90° front firing arc, while the Bombardment Cannons are 270° all around.
The only merits they have over the Bombardment Cannons are the range, no accuracy penalty and they don't lose as much firepower when a dorsal lance gets destroyed in comparison to a Bombardment Cannon.
Additional, the MK2 lacks the Torpedo Launcher.

While dps isn't exactly the selling of the Space Marines, critical hits are and therefor the MK1 is the way better choice.
This impact can really be seen on the battlefield and for the one the MK2 has it is way overpriced with its 309 point cost
I play Orkz to collect all those salty Imperial tears
