In lore one Space Marine could happily take on 50 Imperial Guardsmen in hand to hand combat.
We both know for the sake of the Table Top and any video games, this isn't and can't be the case.

And that is exactly the wrong attitude to have. The gameplay doesn't need to come before the lore. When it comes to PC, the trick is to have the gameplay MATCH the lore.

Yes, we know that one Marine could bitchslap a large number of Guardsmen. The answer isn't nerfing the marines, but allowing the Guardsman to take more men.

Agree with the point that ideally, gameplay would match the lore, whilst remaining balanced and enjoyable. However that is not always possible. For example in the original Dawn of War PC game, it would not have been possible to have literally thousands of guardsman fighting a handful of space marines, both for technical and balance/fun reasons. And unfortunately in the cases where gameplay and lore cannot match and remain balanced and fun, then gameplay has to take precedence.

Indeed. Agreed, the same way that there can't be billions of Tyranids bearing down on the player. But having the attitude that gameplay must come before lore, in a game based on that lore, is the wrong attitude to have. Compromises are one thing. Suggesting ignoring lore to add some gameplay mechanic is another.

As I mentioned in my last post (which maybe you missed?)
I certainly didn't mean to imply that we should ignore the lore, so I apologise for that misunderstanding. :)

just bouncing on tau a sec, they are quick or they could be. Since this an adaptation of the TT to make tau more in line with a rta over turn based their "warp" jumping could be implimented very similarly to eldars full burst.

Losing a battleship right after seeing your enemy in literally 5 seconds is BROKEN! especially when that enemy simple does a 180 and goes invisible LOL! Seriously, how can you let a battleship get what is in practice ONE HIT! FIX!

How is this even possible! I have a voidstalker it can't take down another battleship in one pulsar! I generally get games with 300-315 points which means I have an escort with me. How can his battleship die in one pulsar.... this must be a troll... The only time I have lost a battleship in 5 seconds was when an orc taunted me LOL.
