Viable ork build please

Havent played in awhile and i see alot has changed since then so i'm asking for some help. Could someone show me a viable/universal build please?

because of the new upgrade buffs and the across the board price cut the ork ships, the new meta build is max Zzzaps with some defensive carrier ships

and wierdboy tower upgrade as well

orks are a lanceboat faction now :?

What defensive upgrades and skill would you recomend, without belt armor it just feels like orks are made of paper. I dont know if it just me but SM's just kill me so fast, all i see is fires and crits from them. As for favor a few months ago i was using Da goof clan, now i'm leaning towards da bad moon clan. Could someone give me a few tips on how to properly optimze ships for zapps.

I don't play orks any more given as currently it's just ridiculous however my fleet was able to roflstomp everything besides one very good Eldar player and one good Chaos player (they both have maxed out fleets).

1 x BS - max Zzaps + torpedoes
2 x BC - max Zzzaps + torpedoes
1 X C - carrier
OR
2 x LC carriers (I find these better as you can space them to cover the fleet and you have an additional Shokk)

Skills: probes, stationary probes, stasis bombs
Favour: Bad Moonz

Upgrades: Zzap range, Tac Cogitator (or whatever its called in orkish), shield bypass for zzaps, Weirdboy tower. The slowdown is useful but not essential.

Crew: on zzap boats its Full Weirdboy, Dakka Master and Grotz
on carriers its Full Weirdboy, Grotz and Squadrons

Tactic: sit in a line, spam probes, focus fire, make stasis wall, win. I usually try to detect them early to make use of Shokk cannons and spamming torps with Reload.

Terribly cheesy and boring, if you encounter a really good Eldar or Chaos player he will wreck you but those are quite rare.


I have tried other builds, full Gunz = DPS is shit, full Kannons = better but the range cripples you to much against kiting fleets. So far this is the only thing that works most effectively. You will probably get some abuse with this fleet.

My most delicious cheese is:
2x Hammer 2xZzap + 9k Tower - Beacon, Stasis, Rally
2xTerror Zzap + Launcha + 9k Tower - Probe, Rally

Rest Savages or Onslaughts (Or Coils, Goffs Bonkers Basha and a single escort).
Upgrades Belt, Tower and Auto refuel for carriers are the must haves, rest whatevs.
Favors I like the long range boarding and extra upgrade one.

Exactly what this guy said but put Nova Kannons on your light cruisers.
Light cruisers should have belt armour and extra turrets since they dont need zaap upgrades.

Good eldar shouldnt be able to kill you if you use your probes correctly.
Make sure you get your beacons on them asap and they will just melt.

Also dont take statis; stasis is garbage. Take shield invul, lets you ignore 1 pulsar burst from eldar and really helps when things actually get into melee with you (like nurgle for example).

Why would you ever put a NC on a basha LC,is beyond me


The best weapon to have on a LC is the Mega Kannon, no other weapon can out DPS it on the basha so putting an NC and risking it blowing up the NK is not better

literally any other favor is a better option
