Using OP tactics in Beta

Postby MisterMorden » 17 March 2016, 11:55

I think it is a real bad move to use OP tactics in beta, but i see more and more people that do it, so lets use this thread to tell everyone which tactic (you think) is OP, so at least everyone uses it.

Imperium: Use as much Nova cannon as you can + shield transfer on all ships, this wins you most of the games.

Using Op BUilds in beta is the best thing we could do. So the developer see what is imbalanced and change it. ;)

i think shield transfer is probably fine now.

nova+plasma+stasis probably a scarier combo

In my eyes what works best for chaos is equip all ships with mark of nurgle, making them almost immune to assault actions, give them speed and maneuverability upgrades, get in close, use macro cannons with ignore armor upgrade and wreck the enemy where he thinks he has the advantage. bombs of all kinds work well with this strat, as well as micro warp jump and maybe a taunt or too to distract enemy cruisers who micro warp jumped to fire their nova cannon.

Can't tell if it's op or not, but it works well and makes use of mostly one tactic.

As someone that doesn't want to spam Nova Cannons it's really unfortunate that all the other Imperial cruisers are still worse than the Dominator even when you disregard the Nova. This is even more true now that carriers lost any punch they had. At least the Overlord has a viable role in place of the Mars.

I wish we coudl get an imperial cruiser with front lances like a big daedalus. :)

But i think all of this will change when torpedos would be usefull.

+1

that's the best way to play the beta, we should find exploits to be fixed before retail launch

I don't think anyone still needs to prove novas are OP.

One of them (dont know the chassis) has broadside lances, so theres that, but prow lances in place of that giant spike would be verrrry nice :D :D
