IN 'Concerns'.

Can we all just calm down about the IN being 'under powered'? Did you even read the patch notes? you even tried any of the new stuff they got? IN has never been so awesome (apart from the broken state it was in the Alpha... but they where completely OP back then).

You can make your ships hyper mobile ramming machines (power ram, engine upgrade, belt armour, MWJ and super charge void shields) making them what the Orks wish they where, with Chaos levels of speed and mobility and insane damage potential.

You can make an artillery fleet (stacked servos, short burn torps, belt armour, MWJ and stasis bombs) and spam up a wall of fast torps and Nova Cannon shots every 20-15 seconds (yes you can get reloads that low, even on the Novas, before anyone brings that up).

You can make the best tank fleet around (Voss pattern void sheilds the most awesome upgrade in the history of ever for me, Belt armour, reinforced hull, auxiliary void shields, shield transfer, super charged void shields and maxed Tech Priests) which can be ridiculously hard to kill.

Focus on battery and crit with carriers (the squadron upgrade + squadron sergeant, master gunner, targeting matrix + range upgrades).

Or make a fleet which is a mix of them all...
this is before we factor in the Sword (the singular best counter to other escorts and Eldar at the moment) Widow Maker (a life saver if you didn't take the Emperor in High tier and the best scout around for a tank fleet) and the Firestorm (very solid, reliable, damage dealer for an escort) or the excellent favours.

So give it a rest and have faith in the Emperor's mighty Shield.
The IN is strong and Mighty.

I hope you will not attract the QQ just right clicking with the whole fleet and wondering why it doesn't work. imp in good hands are great. I still bash them hard with my orks, but too much mechanicus and stasis spam to be able to enjoy imp as opponent.

Well Imps for me are a testing ground, I've made dozens of fleets with the IN, I just love the options I have.
Add onto that that I've been playing this game for over a year now, had extensive knowledge of the fluff (made the Ship profiles, which are on hold... probably permanently now) and I pretty much know the faction inside and out.

I tend to use Carriers against Orks, make all my ships 'go fest' or I just from DPM them at 9-6K range making use of stasis and engine boosts to hold range.
Orks are fairly easy match up for most of my fleets these days.

I agree, Imperials shot up in my estimations and are now perhaps my favourite faction. I don't understand all the complaints that have popped up lately at all, Imperials received a series of major buffs and yet they're now underpowered? What?

Because people love to complain. Or because they think the faction they play should be the best at CQC AND at range.

Noawadays every faction when played properly can wreck the others.

I see Eldar i cant even identify (the good ones) and others who come at 3k range vs IN (the bad ones) and its the same in every faction.

The only input we don t have is are the faction balanced between top skilled players

I'm inclined to believe most of the complaints are from first-online-attempt-admirals (the same who come here and complain about eldars being UP after they lost their 3 or 4 first games where they stand still in front of orcs or IN  ).

To be confirmed on mid/long term, but with the last patch I think IN is now back in the competition :)

You've kinda highlighted the issue, as it is, with the IN. The ships need upgrades, much more so than the other fleets. The difficulty is steeper early on.

Right now, I started on a new IN admiral and put the Mezoa drives on all my Dauntlesses. It's faster than anything the Orks have, and I kept up with Chaos fine. Eldar... well, not so much. It does more than put you at par with most other fleets, it gives you a small boost.

IN admirals really need to learn to love the Sword. I'm not sure if I want armour piercing or 50 extra shields on them yet.

There is no issues with IN. It's very easy to start with compared to say chaos. Chaos is actually harder to start with and it dosent matter which faction you talk about they all need upgrades very much. I suggest you to try and start new admiral as chaos not easy at all. After all chaos hellbringers are probably worst LCs unupgraded. Ofc with few ups they turn to be glorious vessels probably more powerful than other LCs but at start they suck badly.

That is ALL factions.
No faction is just flat out better when completely stock.
