Awesome! Can't wait to see what can be done! So far 5K views and looks like it was positively recieved!

Any breakthrough with ship slots? If not.. I thought and idea of turning some ship ideas into the escort category might be a thought?

We did discuss that at some point, but it was just a vague discussion. We agreed to concentrate on other stuff right now.

There are a few questions that came up.

Laser batteries colours.

Some people said that the red laser batteries can be confusing. Though, Tau have both red and blue beams so they already did that.

Option A: Leave it red.
Option B: Make it yellow like the old plasma lances were.
Option C: Make it blue like the lances. I do not like this one, as it would make them visually the same as lances.

New Sm Ship Stats:

Alcazar class Battlebarge:
Hull: 1200
Shields: 400
Speed: 150
Armour: 75
Turn rate: 5
Troop value: 70
Point Cost: 350
Turrets: 18
Detection: 7500
(Normal BB stats, nothing changed here except the point cost got more expensive)

Weapons:
3 bombardment cannons dorsal.
1 plasma battery broadside.
2 hangar bays prow ( 1 less than usual.)
1 nova cannon prow.

Strike Cruiser: Flamewrought
Hull: 600
Shields: 200
Speed: 188
Armour: 75
Turn rate: 15
Troop value: 70
Point Cost: 160
Turrets:12
Detection: 5000
(Normal SC stats, nothing changed here except a point increase.)
Weapons: 1 dorsal bombardment, 1 broadside battery and 1 prow nova. Basically same as the lance Strike cruiser, just with Nova.

Basileus Battlebarge:
Hull: 1200
Shields: 400
Speed: 150
Armour: 75
Turn rate: 5
Troop value: 70
Point Cost: 340
Turrets: 18
Detection: 7500 (Normal BB stats, nothing changed here except price increase)
Weapons: 3 bombardment cannons dorsal. 1 macro battery broadside (currently for mark 1). 4 hangar bays prow ( 1 more than usual)


What do people think? Are the stats balanced?

in my opinion they should be blue
the tau get away with having red lances because the demiurg lances are way thinner then the chaos ones
would make sense that lazers would also be thinner then a giant ass lance?
so if you can use the demiurg fx i would advise blue
not sure if thats an option though

It definately goes around the problem of making them indistinguishible from lances, I'll ask PM about it.

Okey new laser battery poll. Please everybody , tell us what you think.

Do you like the current red Imperial laser battery? This makes them easy to confuse with Chaos lances, and demiurg ion lances. Which means Demiurgs and Chaos are also easily confused......

Do you want it to be the orange once used for laser lances? (This would be a unique new effect)

Do you want it the same blue as lances? This would make them indistinguishable from imperial lances.

Do you want it to be the Tau ion cannon particle? It is blue so it is blue, but the Tau use it too.

Do you want it as a recoloured blue Demiurg ion lance particle? (This would be a unique new effect)

I am personally partial to the Recoloured Demiurg or the Orange laser lance ones, but the latter be the best since it is unique, can't be mistaken for imperial lances or another race's weapon, and PM had already made it so he does not need extra work with it.

After watching a quick video about laser strength with their different colors I vote them to be orange, just so they are diffferent but still "red"
(Red lasers are better at burning things from far away, while blue ones are way better when the target is up close. So Imperial lance batteries with 6k range are blue, but laser batteries with 12k range can be orange.)

Well Imperial lasers actually work by firing an energy blast using the laser as a carrierwave the colour does not really matter, but I agree that orange is the best choice. It is totally unique and already made!
