I'm not asking you to make time for the mod, I'm just making a comment.

In regards to asking about a certain ship.. I was just wondering how modular are the models. Like the imperial battleships modded so far.. the weapon systems are modular right? So the victory for example, with 3 lance batteries per side, I was wondering if say an Imperial Lance Battery can occupy the weapon battery areas of a battle barge. Thats my questions, how modular are the ships?

lets take the Overlord for example, it has 2 dorsal lances, 2 weapon batteries per side.. Giving it a total of 4 weapons slots lets say. (on the broadsides)
Is each of those 4 slots able to be changed to be something different, not just shooting projectiles, but visually? I'm thinking it already is based upon seeing your work on the battleships.. If thats true, than several other combinations of ships would be possible...

PM knows this better than me, but so far each race has models only usable for that race.

So IN lances can be used to make Victory, but not added to battlebarges without horrible clipping or other graphical glitches.

IN/Chaos cruiser, battlecruiser and battleship broadsides are interchangable, as well as some prow stuff like novas, but not others like torpedoes. So you can't put a Desolator's torpedo launcher prow on a Chaos Cruiser.

You can however add lances to victory, or take the prow lances from the Hades and put them on the Acheron, and take Acheron prow macrocannon and put it on the Hades for example. But you can't put cruiser grade torps on a battleship, but Novas can be added to battleship prows.

I already have that PDF. Most IN designs that have even the slightest lore mention are in, though unfortunately I can't find any for a lot of the great chaos warship designs there.

Greetings Admirals,

As you may know approximately a month ago, I have reached out Imperator5 and his team to see if we could help them on their mod project by asking what type of access and/or data they would need to enhance/finalize their mod.

There are countless examples that prove mods can greatly improve games: by just tweaking few stats changing colors or adding new features, it can highly increase participation on the game its longevity and of course the user’s enjoyment.
On the other hand, there are also unexpected counter effects for some of them: the stability of the game can be impacted and few mods came with unanticipated malwares and Keyloggers.

Providing you mod tools on the developers’ behalf implies that Tindalos Interactive is officially supporting this mod creation along with Games Workshop and Focus Home Interactive and that we have enough time and resources to develop tools for this mod.

Unfortunately, this is not the case at the moment: Tindalos and Focus have lots of projects running on and they cannot spare developers to create mod tools and Games Workshop wants to keep a tight rein on its licenses.

I had to concede this one; some of you may have guessed my answer long before but I had to try: Like you, I am a huge fan of Games Workshop’s universes specially 40k and everything that can improve or enrich BFG worth the pain.

I will keep you posted if there is any change on the subject.

As expected, though it is no surprise that there is not enough manpower. This game never had a lot of developers even when it was in full development, and they seem to have become only even more scare since and Focus seem to have taken up too many projects for its capacity. I remember back when there was a big Q/A thread, but that developer no longer works with the company.

GW is most likely worried that I would not go along with their ridiculous name changes policy.

Thank you for asking them though, I hope the developers can still push out that Necron DLC sometimes this year.

So thats why there is no Ravensburg? Whose heading the game now?

I gotta wonder what other projects Tinderlos has picked up.. Wishful thought would be for Battlefleet Gothic Armageddon... that's heres...BLAM.

Thats the publisher Focus, the dev team is tinderlos, 2 different entities no?

I think Focus may shuffle devs around for projects between studios. Some publishers do that. I could be totally wrong.

Since this mod is dead, I have turned my spare time back to Dawn of War 2.
