Battle point system is flawed and boring

Case.
You can have 3 non ork light cruisers in 2v2 but only when you are low level. If you level up this option is no more. Leveling up should open new options, not disable them.

Suggestions.
1.1. Either increase 2v2 point value (good idea would be to allow all races to get 3CL) or make it somewhat random (270-330).
1.2. Or behold... give us option to stay low level admiral. So I can enjoy 3 capital ships option as non orks in 2v2.
1.3. Complicated... allow minor customization on all ships, so we can manipulate ship cost somewhat. For instance decrease hull points by 200 and make ship 20 points cheaper...

Bonus suggestion
In addition to 300 points of free choice give each player 2 random escorts. To promote escorts use.

The additional Points when you have a lower Admiral on your side are to even out the battlefield.

1.1. I would like that but tindalos already said they have Problems with the net codes and they can't increase the value without taking care of that first.

1.3. Customisations would be very cool but sadly they have never said anything when this Topic came up.

They should at least increase SP point limit, the game engine can easily handle 2000 point battles.

Hey Imperator5 do you know for sure that the Unreal engine could actually handle 2000 point games? I know nothing about the programming structure of game engines and was certainly interested in your comment. It would be wonderful if the engine could actually do this. If so, then the problem seems to be the devs and designers decisions, possibly dependent on personel and money.

I guess we just don't know because they won't tell us.

So far they said that the problem is a net issue. I know for sure the game can take bigger battles than the current limit offline.

Can't think of why would that be. The amount of players doesn't change, and that's the largest factor when it comes to online games

Upgrades should cost battle points. 3 unupgraded light cruisers should be able to be squeezed in 300 BPs battles.

Agreed that, in general, uogrades should affect point costsvto at least some degree.
Furthermore, more useful/powerful upgrades should cost a bit more than weaker upgrades, which adds a layer of depth to the game.

Wonder why it isn't already so.

Problem can be easily solved by getting rid of the silly ass progression system. When the performance of your fleet is directly tied to upgrades which in turn is tied to your "level" it makes for a really shitty experience when starting as a new player, or trying out different tactics. Just give everyone a full loadout + all upgrades/skills/crew available and then balance points based on that. It's the only sane way to do it and also the least complex/error prone way of doing it.

Your suggestion can be added to those of us who have been PLEADING for an improvement to new player game play. The basic design philosophy of 'punishing play' and 'unconcern about balance' have been driving at least some of us crazy. You just joined a group of 'crazy, lazy and ignored players'. Welcome and take a seat. We do collective moans occasionally.
