Your Ideas to keep the game alive, PVP online or in PVE vs AI ?


Well I am surprised the game did make so far anyway, I did see a lot fo games ,
even with good rating and old communities die online pretty fast,
man even Starcraft 2 is today not than populated like a year ago.

So far the developer did make in my opinion a pretty good job and at some point its just time to move on.



Well what should in your opinion developer do to keep the people longer here ?
Here is my list any ideas are welcome, dont forget about "realization" it must not be too complicated.


1 Well Add the remaining Factions as DLCs.
Necrons , Tyranids and Dark Eldar.

2 Add a new gameplay mode in persistent where you can just choose to lead a big fleet without upgrades and special abilities.
You have Cruiser Clash, Assassination and Data Recovery.

Why not Armada ? Just an Idea to play a big fleet.

So the Idea is here , you can choose your "special task force fleet"= your current persistent fleet, like the one you have now, or go for a "new" huge fleet huge = Armada fleet with 10 till 40 ships , but they have limited abilities and you have access there to different ships.

Its changes randomly for both players from 400 till 2400 points.
400, 600, 800, 1000, 1200, 1400, 1600, 1800, 2000, 2200, 2400 "well you get the Idea"

Example Armada Fleet
No Upgrades on the ships. No Boarding, no lightning strikes.
Keep it more simple for a bigger fleet.
Favours do only change the colour and don't affect more on the ships.

Battleships = 300 Pts
Battle Cruisers = 200 Pts
Cruisers = 150 Pts
Light Cruisers = 100 Pts
Escort Ships = not available


So you can like by 2400 Points choose 8 Battleships

3 Add Simply good reliable escort ships to persistent mode.

4 In Starcraft 2 is one interesting idea by coop,
the game rules do change every week, like units do double damage, why not make such specials too ?

Like after level 8 you can enter a special mode, that does got for special rules, that are for 1 or 2 month than change again.

Like this week Orcs have reduced Zzap range for 3000, but the Nova Cannons don't break any more.
Eldar are immune to ramming, Imperium Nova Cannons can precisely hit targets,
Chaos does have half the range, but lances have doubled fire rate and Macro-Battery does do +50% more damage.

To answer the question of points, you should keep up to date with mod development, we've successfully found out how to edit point limits and plan to increase the maximum point spread to 1500.

A universal campaign builder like the ones back in Age of Mythology and Neverwinter Nights.

This would drastically extend the life of the game I reckon.

By this I mean an easily useable interface for scripting emgagements and creating your own campaigns, whether map or tree based. Nothing to do with modding. Something everyone can dive into.

Actually, that is exactly modding. The campaign of this game is highly complex, and since they have already said that they won't do anything for or against modding, the already very low probability of that happening due to the technical challenges involved becomes practically zero. So manual modding like it's currently happening is most likely the only way this is going to happen.

Of course it is, but presentation and ease of use are important. I don't think an endorsed and controlled modding framework to build and share custom scenarios is beyond question. Plenty of other games do it.

2000pts custom games and the possibility to increase the ships HPs x2, x3 and x4, because a lot of people play 40k just to unleash apocalyptic scifi fleets which grind each other into oblivion.

Warning: Custom games are not subjected to balance

As much as you are right...
even if Tindalos does something to revitalize this game, it sure as hell isn't gonna be mod support.

As much as you are right...
even if Tindalos does something to revitalize this game, it sure as hell isn't gonna be mod support.


But how else other than mod support are we going to turn this into a good game?

it is a good game
and to get back on subject, modding support isnt that guaranteed to keep the game alive
it would divide the community even more
i would like it, but its not the solution for keeping the attention of people who quit out when they see a lvl3 ship going against their lvl2s
campaign mod support would be awesome though
