but its still the mode where its easiest to find a match it still has the most players
a lot of people love it

I'm one of those people.

I'm that guy who plays EVERY match as cruiser clash. Sure you might get your transports across the map but you lost the rest of your fleet (even on defender, I simply hide my transports and make you look for them or fite me). I don't even run in admiral/data missions on defender, I make you fite me. I also learn from my losses and adapt. Yes, I have those OP fleets/builds because they work and win games. I don't cry when my butt gets whupped by a better player/fleet, I learn n adapt.

I don't understand the appeal of handicapped ships, ie ranked games.

I spent some cash, took a chance on a game, like every other game I've bought. Looks like this didn't work out in the long run. Oh well, I don't cry, I learn and adapt.

Yeah, I'm one of those people. I think we're a silent majority.

The entire point of the OP is you are not a silent majority.

Also heads up: the player count is already decreasing. The Tau DLC effect is, after a few weeks, already over.

your math makes no sense
the majority of people on the forum dislike persistent
persistent is the most likely place to find a pvp match quickly
so the majority of people playing like it over ranked
the majority might be getting smaller since the total number is getting smaller but that makes it no less a majority

Majority or not, those who are silent are silent. They cannot be counted on for their opinions and what their opinions actually are is unknown.

"But maybe there's a lot of people that like it that just aren't telling us that!" is not a good argument. What we know is that there are a lot of people here telling us otherwise.

The silent get no vote. If they did use their opportunity to vote, they wouldn't be silent in the first place.

Straw man is a logical fallacy. It does nothing to further the discussion.

I'm sure Tindalos has the data to measure which mode is preferred over the other.

Please help me change skirmish to be customisable. Its very important for PVE players.

viewtopic.php?f=3&t=515 Mod idea.

How they capitalize on possessing that data is a whole different matter though.

I prefer ranked but play persistent to get a game. Any data they have about my games will show a preference for persistence, and that is incorrect.

I would like to see multiple escort upgrade 'loadouts' for escorts.

Example. Imperial Sword class escort.
Right now, all swords in your fleet will have the same 3 upgrades. It has acces to one "load out" of up to 3 skills.

What could be. Sword class has multiple "load outs" available, each needs to be upgraded for points as normal. But in a battle, each individual sword class escort can be assigned any of the loadouts you have available for them. If you had 4 loadouts available for swords, and you had 4 swords in your fleet, you could choose any combination of your 4 loadouts for your 4 swords. All could be the same as now, all could have different loadouts. 2 swords with one loadout, 2 with a second?

A lot of what I want to see is improvement and innovation beyond creating DLC races. Probably stuff that is better put into BFG Armada 2, if there will be BFG armada 2.

Not a bad idea, but it would be a complication for a thing that is not all that important.

If they were to put some work into other fields than moahr DLC's (which I'd love to more than anything right now), I'd rather they directed it towards something more vital than questionably useful escort upgrades. As it is now, escorts works pretty good since it's the line ships that get specialized roles, escorts are little more than fillers/scouts/disposable swarm of meat shields and there are a lot of things that need to be done.

Escorts reworking not being even remotely amongst them.

Your idea is great, but there are far more important things to tackle as of now.
