How does anyone still have problems with this? It's a 1 dps lance. Sure the shield Pierce and slow can be annoying, but a zzap fleet does, what? 10 dps? A fleet that likely can't run silent, can't kite you, and has spent all its kustom points plus 2-3 upgrades for that. How much more can they be nerffed?
Orkz is never beatin in battle. If we win we win, if we die we die fightin so it don't count. If we legz it we don't die neither, so we can come back for annuver go, see!

The slow upgrade should apply all the time, even when hitting shields.

The shield pierce upgrade should be removed. Shield pierce is cancer anyway.

In its place, the kannons should get the AP upgrade.

This makes no practical sense whatsoever. If the zzzap doesn't pierce shield, how would it affect hull, let alone engines?
Perhaps some sort of short circuit in the shield (can't represent this in the game without making something game-breaking, like piercing now or increased dmg via disruption overcharge) but it won't touch engines.

Shield piercing makes no sense in 40k anyway lorewise. Just rename the slow upgrade to "co-axial traktor beam" and ta da.

The current problem is the random criticals that the shield pierce makes even to ships with shields. But if it needed to take the shield down first, it would be much less cheeze.
However in that case, the slow needs to work even when hitting shields in order to let orks catch up with people. Its a gameplay thing.
