More difference between tau cruisers?

Postby TheGoldenChicken » 30 September 2016, 05:50

I feel like the two tau cruisers should have a bigger difference between them, right now it is just the choice between a heavy ion cannon with 2 heavy prow railguns, or 2 twin prow railguns and normal ion cannons, it's not really much of a difference, and I think that diversity in the ship line really does provide nicely for the game.

Now speaking of ion cannons, does anyone else have the feel that they are a very small minority for tau? While almost all of their ships have at least 2 of them, they do very little damage, and no tau vessel actually has them as little more than an "extra" weapon. Should there be more tau vessels that use more ion cannons? Or would it impact their play style too much?

One gets more shots for more overall crits... two more shots, So not many more crits, so they are basically the same.

I have to admit this is a thing. I was making a Tau fleet today and honestly it took me 2 minute to figure out the difference between the two classes... basically same weapons just different weapon profiles...

one of them has all 9k weapons while the other has some that only go to 6k
:/ i had to come to the forum and ask what the difference was during the beta
the difference does seem insignificant, not enough for a separate ship

Thank you guys, having played mostly against Tau, I still haven't figured the difference between their cruisers to this day.

Yeah I kind of feel that it has not been emphasised enough that the two ships are different.

Please help me change skirmish to be customisable. Its very important for PVE players.

We need the Explorer, Hero, and Merchant class ships to give actual variety to the Tau.
