New modes: I don't know, I'd need to check.
But I know for a fact that all the factions will eventually be added, and by extension (I assume, given how things have developed so far), a lot of new skills and upgrades.

Based on the Steam reviews they have alienated quite a few customers already with the lack of multiplayer features. No, those have been removed with no plans to bring them back, sadly.
Two reasons:
1) It added to much more complication to the game for not enough pay off
2) there where some serious balance problems with IN ships becoming unkillable in such formations.

Don't argue with me about it, its the devs decision, just passing on whats been said.

Do you mean next patch?
If so it's a ranked mode, a few balance changes, and the addition of a leader board.

Thank you for answering, but all due respect, I wasn't asking personally for information about what's in the next patch, as I'm not waiting on it, nor that concerned.

My request was in the context of how Tindalos themselves keeps the community and potential customers informed. Thanks again.

More interactive/strategic/dynamic elements to the maps themselves? Right now they're just pretty to look at. Maybe a few rocks/mines and clouds here and there.

There are rocks, mines and clouds here and there... and they do effect game play.
