[Bug] Reports from first play session...

Postby Harkole » 11 March 2016, 13:47

Confirming the AMD graphics glitch (Plasma Bomb/Void Bomb causes white screen error).

System is:

Intel i7-4770
AMD R9-290X (4GB) - Latest release (not Beta) drivers
16GB Ram

I'm happy to provide DxDiag logs if you need them?

Ship Health?

In Addition, and not noticed another post for this yet, during heavy damage dealing scenarios I've seen several ships drop below zero health and continue to fight, slowly repairing back above 0 HP's. I've only ever seen this during close range standard attacks but I counted three separate instances where a ship was beyond dead and still fighting and a few moments later would have some health back.

AI movement issues

Ships set to frontal attack and a range will not move if they are below that range, in some cases refusing to move at all even after the target is dead or has moved away - usually with the escort vessels although happened once with a cruiser that didn't have any damage to it.

Sub Targetting

Not sure if it's a bug or just bad luck... My focus fire attempts never result in the actual targeted item being destroyed. For example targeting the engines even with my fleet chasing will still manage to destroy turrets instead. Additionally there are times that torpedoes that appear to impact do no damage, again this maybe just bad luck due to point defence.

Edit:

Screen Edge Scrolling

This is extremely eager and makes it impossible to click the drop down menu tabs for the fleet without scrolling the map in the direction the camera is facing, thankfully it's not one that is used much (at least for me at the moment) and is more an annoyance than a bug.

Hi Harkole,

Confirming the AMD graphics glitch (Plasma Bomb/Void Bomb causes white screen error).

We are very sorry about this issue. Your DxDiag is not required as it affects all AMD cards.

We are not able to reproduce this problem. Does it appear on a specific ship ?

The focus fire increases your chances to criticaly hit a specific part of the ennemy vessel. If you are unlucky you can destroy the whole ship before the part you are aiming.

This is a known issue, we hope that the dev team will be able to fix it asap.

Thank you for your feedbacks.

Hi Alan,

Thanks for the quick replies, I'll capture some footage when I play tonight and see if I can spot it again. From memory it was when shooting at escort class Chaos ships with a Dauntless and two Firestorms all within 3km's they happened to have there fire sequences more or less in sync with each other so the damage was coming in as a large burst.

The target ship would dip between -1 and -3 HP's then rep back up to a positive value, it would take another volley or two to actually finish the ship off.

Is it possible the target ship was using emergency repairs at the same time? I know there is a visual effect for this but I was looking more at the ship stats in the UI rather than in the main view area as I could see it's health bar was fully black and was wondering why I wasn't getting the satisfying explosion!

Hopefully I can catch some footage for you, in which case I'll update the post later tonight.

Hi,

I have also had the below 0 damage recovery (at least looking at the health bar) issue. Attacking a Dauntless warping out with a Dauntless and a Lunar, dropped it below zero, health recovered then it warped out.

Just caught it on a video in my first battle, a Dominator and three Firestorms dropped a hostile ship to below zero health. Target ship was using Emergency Repairs.

Watching back this isn't as bad as last night as the ship at least had the decency to explode! About 58 seconds in you will see the frigate dropping to -3 then climb to 0 just before exploding.

Video capture wasn't running when this one hit, but same issue. Ship was destroyed as it opened a warp rift. It repaired to 6 then causally flew off the map and whilst I could select it I couldn't target it with any thing, thankfully the game still ended counting the ship as crippled after it flew a little further out than the second screen shot shows.

Additionally a Fatal error tonight, the first one in 4 hours game play :) Log files attached.
