[SOLVED] Unable to connect

Postby Amahagene » 09 October 2016, 07:48

I am stuck on the main menu as the aspect of the game that I was wishing to play this night was trying out the Tau empire and the Space marines. But in the top right corner I see the words "not connected."
Trying to jump-start it I selected various options in the game that would require connection and nothing worked. Multiplayer, leader-boards, not even the FAQ and Help worked.
I was one of the people whom pre-ordered the game and just wasted the last 2 hours trying to get this to work.
These were my steps already done tonight.
1. Launch game to a "fatal error" message
2. Relaunch game to make sure not fluke to see "fatal error" three more times.
3. Validate cache from steam library. 57 files failed to validate and was reacquired.
4. Launched game and tried to find the race I wanted to try, spotted the "not connected"
5. Relaunched game to no avail.
6. Uninstalled and reinstalled to no avail.
7. Deleted select files from computer and validate to reacquire them to no avail.
8. Leaving this thread.

If someone has anything that I have not done that would work I'd appreciate the assistance.

This is very strange, the game server is online (even during this weekend).

Can you join the server now?

At present I have attempted to play the Space Marine fleet but have still gotten the "Not Connected" in the upper right corner next to what appears to be a red circle (my fps is partially overlaid on it). Is there any files that may be causing conflict? I can check with my anti virus to make sure that it is not blocking it but it wasn't doing that before so I can't imagine it is now. With the internet we are getting I know that isn't the issue. Hardware wise this is a less than 1 year old computer.

Update. Issue does not lie with my firewall and still not connected. Insert screenshot of what I see on my end. Top right corner you'll see what I mean.

Do you use Windows Firewall or another firewall?

Otherwise, please remove and/or add Battlefleet Gothic: Armada in Windows Firewall:

1. Open Windows Firewall.
2. Click 'Allow an app or feature through Windows Firewall'.
3. Click the button 'Change settings'.

If 'Battlefleet Gothic: Armada' is displayed under 'Allowed apps and features:', please remove the game.
To remove the game, click 'Battlefleet Gothic: Armada' and click the button 'Remove' then click the button 'Yes'.

Then add manually Battlefleet Gothic: Armada in Windows Firewall.
There are two applications to add: 'BattleFleetGothic' and 'BattleFleetGothic-Win64-Shipping':

1. Click the button 'Allow another app...'.
2. Click the button 'Browse...' under 'Add an app'.
3. Select the application 'BattleFleetGothic' located in 'Steam\steamapps\common\Battlefleet Gothic Armada' and click the button 'Open'.
4. Click the button 'Network types...'.
5. Check 'Private' and 'Public' and click the button 'OK'.
6. Click the button 'Add'.
7. Click the button 'Allow another app...'.
8. Click the button 'Browse...' under 'Add an app'.
9. Select the application 'BattleFleetGothic-Win64-Shipping' located in 'Steam\steamapps\common\Battlefleet Gothic Armada\BattleFleetGothic\Binaries\Win64' and click the button 'Open'.
10. Click the button 'Network types...' under 'Add an app'.
11. Check 'Private' and 'Public' and click the button 'OK'.
12. Click the button 'Add'.
13. Click the button 'OK' to close Windows Firewall.
14. Run the game.

Followed steps. No changes. Going to be uninstalling and reinstalling on a different HDD to see if that works.

Computer is connected via wi-fi. router is unable to be moved closer otherwise. Speed test for connection gets 85mbs per second download.
