It's the speed difference. Slaugher is 225 speed, while Carnage is 188. That's a big difference when you want to keep in range for Nurgle to do it's work - the mark does more damage than your guns, especially if there's more than one ship being hit by the mark. It's the speed difference. Slaugher is 225 speed, while Carnage is 188. That's a big difference when you want to keep in range for Nurgle to do it's work - the mark does more damage than your guns, especially if there's more than one ship being hit by the mark.

Eh, a kiting Chaos fleet should have a bunch of Tzeentch ships making detection a nightmare. 15k zzaps won't make a difference if they are either hidden or blips the entire time. There's no reason it won't work below 400 pt games. Higher than that, the value of only a few cobras will be greatly diminished, especially with your opponents being able to bring enough more powerful ships that can tear through escorts more easily. Dominator for all round solid cruiser, but it's because I favor brawling to finish a fight rather than artillery all the way, it's a shame about the lack of torpedoes.
