Re: [Just For Fun]: Imperium Battleship Scale vs Real

We may not be able to get exact beam/height measurements but the models do allow visual approximations. 6km is, so so. 5km was the old official figure from a BB, but bearing in mind there was some room for slippage on that it works.

Re: Imp cannot beat brawling chaos.

Dominator is a sniper, Tyrant/Gothic are meant for knife fighting.

They're worse at it. Way worse in the case of the gothic.

Re: Dark Eldar Implementation Thread

We're talking about BFG TT here right? And not Warhammer 40K TT?

Yes.

Re: Dark Eldar Implementation Thread

I can't claim to be an expert no. My knowledge of BFG comes from a combo reading the rules. Battle reports and watching a local group play, (their schedule was too random to make collecting viable :(). But fewer hits, no shields, and giving the enemy the best possibble aspect to shoot back at is a m...

Re: Dark Eldar Implementation Thread

B: The Dark Eldar ships are NOT Glass Cannons. They lack the normal Eldar's special movement, but keep the holofield as well as their Cruisers having a higher armour value than ANY Eldar Corsair ship, the Dark Eldar are also NOT vulnerable to Criticals like the Corsairs are. (Eldar Corsairs, unlike...

Re: Dark Eldar Implementation Thread

An important point to bear in mind about DE vs other Eldar in BFG is that they came quite late in the development cycle and whilst no official word came down on it it's generally agreed differences like there lances and movement where an attempt to avoid the balance issues that other Eldar suffered ...

Re: Why do bombers go through shields?

Honestly this seems like a bit of "fan choosing which parts of lore are canon based on arbitrary opinion" rather than any official rule by GW. Like how some people choose not to accept ST Voyager or Starwars Prequels as canon. Basically, anything with a GW label on it is canon until GW wi...

Re: Caliber of rounds.

As I said many times, that is not official. There has never been an official disclaimer on GW's site proclaim this. Star Trek did this for a long time and explicitly stated that only the series/movies were canon and nothing else. GW never made such a disclaimer at GW site. A store managar may say t...

Re: Why do bombers go through shields?

I agree far too much here. I've stopped collecting years ago because it keeps going up in price. This applies strongly. Also as i've noted a few times GW does have an internal "cannon" fluff bible that is handed out to BL authors amongst others but GW just doesn't enforce it. In other wor...

Re: Caliber of rounds.

The 1cm = 1000km is an official dev statement on the old specialist games forums. Various members of GW's head team where pretty active there. As for the rest, (like that Ciaphas Cain excerpt). if it's BL ignore it. BL authors are not normally required to hew to GW official internal cannon. But the ...
