Re: Universal ship comparisons: Intrepid-Class Starship vs Iconoclast Destroyer

I was wondering when someone would post something like this. Yep, this comparison was always going to be dodgy: ST isn't exactly a strong point of mine and I already knew liberaties may have to be taken to make such a comparison 'fair'. I wouldn't call ST my strong point, but i've debated it enough...

Re: Universal ship comparisons: Intrepid-Class Starship vs Iconoclast Destroyer

Okay. That sounds about right then. Apologies for misunderstanding. Though, do you know if it's mentioned anywhere in codices or rulebooks? Just as a secondary source? It's stated in BFG as being the ships "base" which is about 2'000km-4'000km (Across, not from the centre) (A ships base i...

Re: Universal ship comparisons: Intrepid-Class Starship vs Iconoclast Destroyer

You say that as though 40k was any better. :P The entire post above mine goes to show this, in fact. Though why he's using Rogue Trader rather than Battlefleet Gothic and related lore (might be misinterpreting) is beyond me. Read it better mate, i've used both BFG and Rogue Trader numbers. The latt...

Re: Universal ship comparisons: Imperial I-Class ISD vs Lunar-Class CA

Speaking of which, how 'bout you cite sources when you flat contradict someone. Because there's an awful lot of lore out there, and the two of you could be using different canonical sources, either of which might be right. Considering that so much of it is supposed to be propaganda, I'd use the low...

Re: Universal ship comparisons: Intrepid-Class Starship vs Iconoclast Destroyer

I don't count anime as Si-Fi. Anime is anime, and some of the shit that goes on there is just batshit insane. You say that as though 40k was any better. :P The entire post above mine goes to show this, in fact. Though why he's using Rogue Trader rather than Battlefleet Gothic and related lore (migh...

Re: Universal ship comparisons: Imperial I-Class ISD vs Lunar-Class CA

TIEs are not but a TIE bomber squadron is composed of 12 bombers at full capacity each one loaded with 8 torpedoes with fast reload. Assuming it is the same than in game, 1 bomber Squadron can unleash 96 torpedoes before going for more ammunitions in the ISD. Even a Lunar will disappear vs 96 torpe...

Re: Universal ship comparisons: Intrepid-Class Starship vs Iconoclast Destroyer

Armaments: In terms of raw damage, the Iconoclast weapon batteries are more powerful that phasers by a long shot. While the Type-9 phasers are technically capable of penetrating void shielding based on power calcs, it wouldn't be a quick or easy endeavor; the iconoclasts armor (although thin by 40K...

*Gives Alexi a huge thumbs up.*

Just don't ask where, or whom, it came from. ;)

Re: Roleplay: The Last Corsican

But I think that specific guy did pull off some phychic attack on that zombie? then again, that alone doesn't make people into chaos space marines Yeah, nothing particularly rare about renegade psykers and the like amongst the archenemy's forces. It'd be practically unheard of for a CSM to be prese...
