Yes - but trying to stay at 3k range means my ships are spending more time trying to catch the enemy than presenting broadsides (if I'm not micromanaging them). If the enemy is trying to keep range, the bonus kicks in, if not (like orks) I'm far enough out to avoid rams and the worst of da dakka.

Thanks - second go I took four LCs each paired with a Firestorm, spread out across the map and set for 3K range (I normally go 6K as the whole fleet has the accuracy upgrade).
