Re: Lazy Model Design

Okay, so, while I can see the point of people saying upscaling these weapons is perfectly sensible, and you're right, but here's the thing. Take a look at the Forgeworld and base game models for the Tau when they do upscale their weapons, and they are not identical. That ion cannon turret looks awfu...

Re: troop value to high

The difference in strength between Fire Warrior and human is small enough not to matter, especially since the fact that they're shorter means they would have better leverage when grappling. The reason the boarding value is as it is is because that's how the Forge World BFG models were. The original ...

Re: The Tau Empire Beta!

Hurrah!

Now, hopefully with all the promised content delivered they'll feel more like they can focus on what's already in the game rather than on the next DLC.

Re: capitulation punishment in ranked?

For Emp's sake both of you need to knock off the ego competition. Neither of you cares about the other one's opinion. We get it. Cool, whatever, you've successfully proven how independent minded and witty and so on you are. Can you stop dragging the thread off topic with squabbles about this now? Go...

Re: Tau Model Pictures (tabletop game)

If I remember right, Kor'Vattra ships were developed during and after Damocles Crusade. Not certain on that point, but yeah. They also are designed for almost purely military use. I mean, obviously not the Emissary, but the rest are essentially purpose-built, as compared to Kor'Or'Vesh ships which w...

Re: Immediate removal of Eldar as a PVP faction

How many times can they use Pulsars while you're on cooldown? Boarding requires getting very close, and MWJ has a min distance that you can be from the enemy ship, not to mention they'd need to be within 5000 units for you to teleport beside them, rather than directly in front of them, where a Vaul'...

Re: Tau Model Pictures (tabletop game)

Literally the sourcebook that the FW rules for the Tau are found. Tau don't warp in the normal way. The Battlefleet Gothic Tau Codex, the one specifically for Tau. The most direct quote as evidence (I was certain there was a direct statement that said essentially that by streamlining hull design the...

Re: Tau Model Pictures (tabletop game)

From a lore perspective, the FW Tau ships are built to be functional. Shape helps their warp dives.

Re: Universal ship comparisons: Intrepid-Class Starship vs Iconoclast Destroyer

It's a well-established fact that 40k is over-the-top compared to Star Wars, and literally everything else. That's the entire point of the genre. Go big, so big that nothing actually makes sense or is really consistent anymore, or go die.

Now compare The Culture to The Imperium and see who wins.

Re: Initial SM impressions

Easier way to do that might just be to reduce the chance of the Zzaps ignoring shields. Like 33% or 25% or so. Nothing should ever really be reliable with Orks, whether you're fighting as or against them. Depends on if you want to have a faction for just the jizz and giggles or if you want to have ...
