Re: Update 1.5.8536 - Patch Note

Against two battle barges and no strike cruisers with the fighter upgrade makes it quite hard i tried adapting using a gothic but it just doesn't synergize will was i can;t strip shields fast enough with the emperor and the dictator class I'm going to have to agree with Demoulius here. Even from a ...

Re: Mk1 and Mk2 battlebarges and their favours

all the lance based SM ships are underwhelming compared to their other alternatives Indeed, Bombardment Cannons far outstrip Lance Turrets at effectiveness in general even without any special buffs. Bombardment Cannons also got to keep their full Armor Piercing ability (treat enemy armor as 25) eve...

Re: Stop putting Nebulas and Asteroid fields in starting lines!

I know what u meant clouds and astroids need to be in deploymenr zones for transports. Helps alot with deceiving the opponent. Removing clouds from deployment zones would be also a nurf to stealth fleets because the first thing alot of people do is eyeball enemy deployment and if they see your ship...

Re: Initial SM impressions

Lorewise there is very few examples of space marines engaging in huge fleet engagements, unless they are very desperate or in combination with the imperial navy. We mostly hear about surgical strikes, raiding, taking care of space hulks and planetary assaults. Strike cruisers runing silently and de...

Re: Conquest Campaign

Agreed, a simple campaign (no voice, no cinematics) using the map of the Gothic Sector, where you have to conquer it system by system from all the other races. Maybe certain planets could give bonuses, but not really necessary if it's too complicated. Maybe only be able to attack and conquer directl...

Re: Stop putting Nebulas and Asteroid fields in starting lines!

The maps we're seeing are usually pretty good...but having nebulas and asteroid fields in either player's starting line is a HUGE balance issue for certain modes, giving unhealthy advantage to for example, defender in Assassionation. Clouds and astroid fields are pretty much the only thing making i...

Re: An Honest Discussion of the Progression System

I think some leveling system is fine, maybe even the current one. However, it should not take as long as it does to max out a fleet. Agreed. And conversely, eventually everyone maxes out a fleet. Regardless, there should be an additional balance mechanism for upgrades and skills, so they're reflect...

Re: Initial SM impressions

Though if I remember correctly, didn't bombers have more issues with armor in the table top than they do in this game as well? You are correct, looks like I missed a fourth type of weapon that ignores armor in the computer game: bombers. (Thanks!) Bombers were indeed affected by armor in the tablet...

Re: Initial SM impressions

For those not new: I agree torpedoes should lose AP if it can be worked in. However I am worried that that change would have a huge effect, since ships have a lot more turrets in this than they did in the table top and it may make torpedoes a lot weaker than they should be. I can allay your concern...

Re: Initial SM impressions

Instead of setting them to 60 damage with lance-type Armor Piercing (which leaves them at a fixed 45 damage), why not just set them at 90 damage but allow armor to apply fully? That way, the following armor facings will take damage as follows: 75 armor: 22.5 damage 50 armor: 45 damage (same as now)...
