Master gunner modifies base chance before lock on or overload is added. Remember that the crit might have been taken on belt armour or be a hull breach so you don't notice it. I'd say beacons only, you don't have any capabilities to hit beyond 15k (unless you like the pathetic torpedo options chaos has) beacon will give you a 20k reveal range and you can drop it on clouds and ships.

Probes are really more for finding out what you're trying to hit halfway across the map.

My biggest issue is that mp matches can take a long time to find at the moment. One of the things I really love about this game is that I can play a match in ~10 minutes. It really suits my schedule, but not if I have to wait that long just to get a match.

Not just for orks. It was close to a must have on nearly every ship in the game. It was, and in some instances still is, a get-out-of-jail free card. 2) personally I think they should just remove the 3k AP upgrade, that would make lances a lot more interesting again. (Don't know if it would help lunar though, that ship is in a bad place).
