Re: The Campaign

Yeah, I seriously like the campaign. Very atmospheric. Interesting. The OMG panic of realizing you can't do everything and save everyone drives my poor, poor OCD gamer mind nuts, but in a good way! EDIT: And definitely hoping for new campaigns too! A Tyrannic War one seems almost too obvious as a DL...

Re: More Campaigns ?

Mod support so people can create their own campaign maps and stories to upload would be nifty. But a Tyrannic War one would be really awesome. But really, any new campaigns. And I also agree, not having it all be 'tutorial' for 10 turns before you even have access to stuff like Favours would be nice.

Re: 44 ships

Except even in the Lore most of the time fleet combat is 2-3 line ships at most. There's been a FEW cataclysmic epic, Trafalgar/Jutland style battles. But the vast majority are a couple ships here and there. A single Cruiser is enough to destroy a world over time, it's a massive investment.

Re: IN - Which favour do you favour?

I'm pretty much in the boat of Admech. Upgrades just sound too useful. I understand it's wasted on one of the Battleships though, because there's not enough slots for them all or something? But yeah, I can see maybe doing Astartes for 1 Light Cruiser (Data Recovery ship) or something. But otherwise,...

Re: Let us share initial impressions on the release patch notes

I wholly agree about taunt. Taunt and Stasis bombs (and honestly, all bombs) are the worst parts of this game if you ask me. No real source material equivalents, and are straight up the reason I have no interest in MP.

Re: Battlefleet Gothic - Numbers to be changed.

I actually need to counter a point Vaderan said about Lances in the TT. Lances were not for taking out shields. If you used them for that you were mis-using lances. Instead, they were for hitting AFTER the shields were down because they didn't need to worry about the blast marker* intervening like W...

Re: The best IN ship is... the Sword? Or: how I learned to stop worrying and love the spam.

It always amuses me when people complain about the Shield and Hull bonuses for escorts being half those of Line Ships. Let's put it a different way: BBs get a truly raw deal, with only 100, as they end up going from 400 to 500. Which is only a 25% net increase. Cruisers and BCs get 100 as well, whic...

Re: Another Review from a Tabletop Vet

I am right there with you on the Bomb Spam and all the abilities. They seem way too powerful and against the spirit of the source material, in my opinion. Most were definitely not things in it. Maybe if they could be used once, period, and there were fewer options. Or alternately, I'd gladly downloa...

Re: The Eldar : the good, the bad and the ugly

Let me put it this way. I don't play PVP. I likely won't ever play PVP. It's just not my cup of tea. With the possible exception of against a friend or something (if such matches being set up is even possible, I don't even know!) I find even the IN to be way too micro heavy where Torps are concerned...
